We widened the existing dark galley kitchen with a new glazed side infill. The existing bricks from the side of the house were re-used to build a new half height wall which the structural timber supports for the glazed roof sit on, the bookshelves act as structural cross support. The existing UPVC french doors to the garden were replaced with one big glazed door to maximise daylight within the existing opening. A new log burner was added to the new lounge area.
On the first floor the spare bedroom was slightly reduced and reconfigured to increase the bathroom size to include a shower and a freestanding bath.
