Herne Hill, South London

Role: Architect & interiors from concept to completion
Completion: Summer 2018

We widened the existing dark galley kitchen with a new glazed side infill. The existing bricks from the side of the house were re-used to build a new half height wall, on which the structural timber supports for the glazed roof sit. The bookshelves act as structural cross support. The existing UPVC french doors into the garden were replaced with one large glazed door to maximise daylight within the existing opening. A log burner was added to the new lounge area.

On the first floor the spare bedroom was slightly reduced and reconfigured to increase the bathroom size to include a shower and a freestanding bath.

“Working with Tom and Charlie and their team was a pleasure and I’m really glad we chose them as Architects and to project manage our renovation works. They were great at coming up with ideas but also listened carefully to what we wanted and ensured we kept as close to our brief as possible. Highly recommend them”
